Lighting system upgrade
The lighting upgrade has enabled an improvement in working conditions and a more than three-fold reduction in electricity consumption for lighting. Power-guzzling mercury vapour lamps were replaced by modern LED fixtures. The new lights provide sufficient luminance for a comfortable and safe workplace, and do not generate flares or flickering. LED lights consume much less power and disposal is cheaper than for mercury lamps.
The lighting project was launched in 2016, and installation took place in H2 2017. Investment totalled RUB 39 million. A total of 2,117 fixtures were replaced to drive down power usage from 9.9 to 2.8 million kW/h per year.
